Stomp Like a Dinosaur (Tool Required)

Overview: Create dinosaur feet out of recycled materials and act out emotional dinosaurs in a Stomp Like a Dinosaur obstacle course using Our Emotions Cards.

Materials:

• ECSEL Tool: Our Emotions Cards
• 2 recycled boxes per child (tissue boxes work best – boxes should be small enough to fit on children’s feet)
• Butcher block paper
• Tape
• Hole puncher
• Rubber bands or twine
• Body-safe paint
• Paint brushes, sponges, rollers, etc.
• Fly swatters
• Collage materials
• Glue
• Trays
• Children’s smocks
• Obstacle course materials (e.g., circle time dots, hoola hoops, etc.)
• Open space (e.g., cleared areas of the classroom, gross motor space, or outdoor space weather permitting)
