Hidden Alphabet Sensory Bins

Overview: Help children jumpstart their early literacy skills and explore their different senses with this alphabet-themed sensory activity!

Materials:

• Clear plastic bins (enough for partners of small groups)
• A mixture of different sensory materials (e.g., colorful sand, smooth stones — large enough to not be a choking hazard, torn pieces of construction paper, etc.)
• Wooden/plastic letters or alphabet manipulatives
• Trays for each child (to keep track of their letter collection)
• Dry-erase board or writing pad and marker (for visual support)
• Optional: tongs or tweezers to further strengthen fine motor skills (enough for each child or to share)
